Job Description

Who We Are:The Department of Technology, Management and Budget(DTMB) supports the business operations of state agencies through a variety of services, including building management and maintenance, information technology, centralized contracting and procurement, budget and financial management, space planning and leasing, construction management, motor vehicle fleet operations, and oversight of the state retirement systems. This position is with the Office of Retirement Services (ORS) area of DTMB.

Must be organized, with good time management skills and know the

importance of a timeline. We want someone who is reliable, honest and who keeps their commitments to colleagues and clients. We need someone who can seek effective solutions to help resolve problems in a timely manner.

About The Position: This position is the recognized resource for the Disaster Recovery (DR), Business Continuity Plan (BCP), and Information Security (IS) programs within the office. This person will continue to research, design, and implement DR, BCP, and IS initiatives. This person works closely with the security officer in establishing security awareness in the office. The person in this position will research, design, and implement initiatives involving System Security Plans, Incident Management Plans, and Data Sharing Agreements. The position will research various state statutes, other laws, Attorney General Opinions, and Retirement Board policies related to assigned areas of responsibility. This person must effectively communicate with those we serve inside and outside state government and should possess strong leadership, organization, and problem-solving skills.

Position Location/Remote Office: The office location is Lansing, MI. The State of Michigan is not able to offer employment to out of-state applicants that do not plan to relocate. The Department of Technology Management and Budget currently offers a hybrid work option which requires two days working on-site at the official work location and three days of remote work per week.

Education

Possession of a bachelor's degree in any major.

Experience

Three years of professional experience, including one year of experience equivalent to the experienced (P11) level in state service.

Alternate Education and Experience

Educational level typically acquired through completion of high school and the equivalent of at least two years of full-time active-duty experience at or above the E-6 level in the uniformed services may be substituted for the education requirement.

Paid Parental Leave:Eligible employees can take12 weeks of paid leaveimmediately after a birth or adoption to allow needed time together at home with a new child.

Paid Holidays:Eligible employees receive 13 or 14 paid holidays each year including New Year’s Eve and Day, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Presidents’ Day, Memorial Day, Juneteenth, the Fourth of July, Labor Day, Election Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving, Thanksgiving Friday, Christmas Eve and Day.
