Who We Are:TheDepartment of Technology, Management and Budget (DTMB) supports the business operations of state agencies through a variety of services including Information Technology project delivery, maintenance and support. This position is with the Agency Services area of DTMB supporting: Department of Insurance and Financial Services (DIFS), Michigan Lottery Commission (MLC), Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs (LARA), and the Michigan Department of State. (MDOS).

We need someone who can help resolve problems in a timely manner and seek effective solutions.

About The Position: This opening is for an Assistant to the Michigan Department of Technology, Management, and Budget (DTMB) Information Technology (IT) General Manager (GM) responsible for IT Service Delivery to the Michigan Department of Insurance and Financial Services (DIFS), Michigan Lottery Commission (MLC), Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs (LARA), and the Michigan Department of State (MDOS). Supported agencies are responsible for the oversight of financial institutions and insurance agencies, conducting the Michigan Lottery, professional licensing for State residents, vehicle titling and registration, driver’s licenses, and State IDs, and overseeing and supporting the State of Michigan elections process. Teams working in the General Manager support area are engaged in various initiatives including budget and finance, IT projects, IT system development and support, customer relationship management, human resources, and employee engagement. The Assistant to the GM will work closely with the General Manager to track and monitor activities, lead key department initiatives, draft executive briefings, and memorandums, produce detailed documentation addressing key proposals that include options and recommendations, and representing the General Manager in meetings and engagements with other areas in DTMB and the partner agencies. The selected candidate will participate in a wide variety of activities and will engage at all levels of the organization.

Position Location/Remote Office: The office location is Lansing, MI. The State of Michigan is not able to offer employment to out of-state applicants that do not plan to relocate. The Department of Technology Management and Budget currently offers a hybrid work option which requires two days working on-site at the official work location and three days of remote work per week.
