Science Systems and Applications, Inc. Senior Project Control Analyst in Lanham, Maryland

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support various areas of project control on large NASA contracts.

  • Lead Task Order (TO) proposal financial process and pricing activities for new and existing (modifications) TOs.

  • Responsible for maintaining, administering and operating a financial and resources management and reporting system using cost estimating and cost monitoring tools (i.e., PMI/RPM tools).

  • Monthly / Quarterly 533 processing and deliverable.

  • Various levels of cost reconciliation (invoicing, reporting, etc.) and ability to communicate with interdepartmental personnel to resolve discrepancies (contracts, accounting, subcontracts, procurement).

  • Produce ad hoc financial reporting for a variety of stakeholders, both internal and external

  • Work with technical experts to update forecast (ETC) monthly.

  • Produce a variety of variance reporting (EAC vs Plan, Actuals vs Forecast, etc.).

  • Understanding of variance analysis and ability to work with team to determine root cause and corrective actions.

  • Advise program leadership on key trends and early warning indicators – seeks understanding of narrative around the data.

  • Responsible for maintaining Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) / charge code integrity.

  • Setup charge codes for personnel.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Business Management, or related field and 5 years of experience. Equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of degree.

  • Must have Microsoft 365 experience, particularly high proficiency with Microsoft Excel.

  • Excellent communication skills in a cross functional team.

  • Ability to work in a hybrid (office and remote) environment.

Desired Skills and Qualities

  • Deltek products (Costpoint, T&E, Cobra), PMI/RPM.

  • Understanding of NASA contracts and financial reporting requirements - NASA FAR Supplement & NASA Procedural Requirements (NPR 9000s).

  • Understanding of complex Excel estimating models.

  • Understanding of general Program Management Office (PMO) monthly cadence.
