Reference #: 9303790 The Supervisor of Patient Access oversees the daily registration functions within Patient Accessrsquo;s scope of work. Ensures the operational unit is staff appropriately. Promotes a positive patient experience for patients and families. Demonstrates strong verbal and written communication and customer service skills when interacting with staff, patients, families, and leadership. Supervises efficient and compliant registration processes ensuring regulatory and compliance requirements including adherence to departmental and institutional protocols. Prioritizes responsibilities to complete daily work requirements, resolves departmental and patient problems as needed and monitors key performance metrics to ensure goals are achieved. In addition the Supervisor will do the following: Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the values of Jefferson. Maintains staffing schedules including timely responses to requests for time off. Manages resources to ensure all vacancies are covered with minimum or no overtime. Ensures the necessary coverage for the smooth and efficient operation of the department. Manages on-site operations including MyTime payroll amp; attendance, downtime support and deposit reconciliation. Adheres to established project deadlines and budgetary limitations. Responds to all patient complaints or stakeholder concerns. Consistently identifying ways to improve registration processes. Participates in interviewing and hiring new employees. Shares in the education and training of new hires. Monitors new employee onboarding to ensure new hires are fully trained and competent in their roles and responsibility. Provides constructive communication to service delivery areas, as needed. Escalating issues to Patient Access Leadership timely. Appraises staff performance, addresses complaints and resolves issues that may arise, and acts as a mentor for staff. Manages and tracks staffrsquo;s time and attendance for compliance. Demonstrates a professional demeanor with patients, families, coworkers and leadership by consistently fostering a positive attitude in the department. Ensures regulatory and compliance requirements are met; complies with departmental and institutional protocols. Achieves individual and team performance metrics. Completes staff quality assurance reviews. Completes staffrsquo;s annual performance evaluation providing feedback on staff memberrsquo;s performance and achievement of annual goals to the Regional Manager. Education: Associatersquo;s degree in healthcare or business administrationrequired or in lieu of degree a minimum of 5 years of work experience in a physician office or hospital setting. Bachelorrsquo;s Degree and HFMA Certifications preferred. Experience: Minimum of 2 years of patient registration experience required. Minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience in a physician practice or hospital environment required. Proficient with Computer and Microsoft Office skills and familiar with healthcare EHR applications i.e. EPIC, Cerner. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Requires the use of problem solving and decision-making skills in a variety of complex situation. Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills. Strong quality assurance and critical thinking skills are necessary for this role. Covid Vaccination is a requirement for employment at Jefferson for employees working at Jeffersonrsquo;s clinical entities or at the University.
