This position is located in Lancaster, PA

2nd Shift, full time, pharmacy technician supervisor. Weekends as needed, oncall pharmacy leadership rotation. Supervisor coordinates and guides pharmacy technician development, workflow efficiencies, and ensure customer service. Assists with scheduling, collaboration with other supervisors, and policy/procedure developmen t.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Coordinate and provide leadership for the daily functions of the pharmacy technicians in a manner so as to provide efficient pharmacy services. Serve as subject matter expert for the roles and duties of pharmacy technicians at Penn Medicine/Lancaster General Health (LGH). Represents the perspective of the pharmacy technicians within the departments leadership team.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Qualified individuals must have the ability (with or without reasonable accommodation) to perform the following duties:

  • Coordinates daily activities of pharmacy techncians, performance of medication delivery systems, and department workflows.

  • Participates in and drives engagement of pharmacy technicians in continues improvement projects and department initiatives.

  • Supports the recruitment, on-boarding, and development of pharmacy technicians.

  • Supports department efforts around safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.

  • Provides direct leadership to pharmacy technicians and potentially lead technicians.

  • Ensures appropriate communication between members of the team including locations and shifts.

  • Serves as a subject matter expert in terms of progressive ways to use pharmacy technicans to deliver optimal care within LGH.

SECONDARY FUNCTIONS: The following duties are considered secondary to the primary duties listed above:

  • Assists other managers/supervisors in creation of policy and procedures.

  • Observes and reports to department manager/director unusual situations, occurrences, or complaints.

  • Other duties as assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or successful completion of general educational development (GED) exam.

  • National pharmacy technician certification (CPhT) required.

  • Five (5) years of pharmacy technician experience.

  • A health care provider in good standing with Medicare, Medicaid, and other federal and state health insurance programs, i.e. not excluded from participation in Medicare, Medicaid or any other federal or state health insurance program.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Completion of ASHP accredited (or comparable) pharmacy techinician training program
