Summary

Mon. & Wed. -7:30 a.m.- 4:30 p.m.

Tues. & Thurs- 9 a.m. - 6 p.m.

Fri. 7:30 a.m.- 2 p.m.

No weekends; No holidays

We service the community by partnering with local employers to provide employees access to our network of primary care practices. We are modeled after Concierge Medicine and go above and beyond to provide the highest level of customer service and care to our patients. Our employer partners offer service at our practices based on a per member per month rate and counseling services are included in this fee. The member's experience at HealthWorks is extremely convenient and accessible, with our locations being onsite or near site to the employer, and well dispersed throughout the county. HealthWorks providers provide relationship-based care and are able to spend quality time with members. Our network of primary care practices is growing and we currently have 9 locations-with up to 12 this year.

This specific position is for new practices opening at High Companies & Manheim Township School District and provides counseling, exclusively, to the employees of these two employer groups.

Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY: Provides behavioral health counseling services to patients and their families in the outpatient office setting. Patient care/customer service includes care/service to patients/customers in the child (5-13), adolescent (14-18) adult (19 through 64 years) and older adult (65 years and above) age groups. The composition of age groups is dependent upon the specific outpatient setting.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Qualified individuals must have the ability (with or without reasonable accommodation) to perform the following duties:

  • Counsels individuals, couples, and families with common mental health concerns including depression, anxiety, stress management, substance abuse and psychosocial crisis.

  • Completes a biopsychosocial assessment on new patients and develops and implements a therapeutic treatment plan with brief, specific, action oriented interventions. Collaborates with other treatment team members in the clinical setting and acts as a resource/consultant on behavioral health issues.

  • Develops and facilitates group psycho-educational programs to holistically address medical and mental health needs. Provides in-service training to team members to facilitate increased understanding of behavioral health needs and care.

SECONDARY FUNCTIONS: The following duties are considered secondary to the primary duties listed above:

  • Completes required documentation in the electronic health record according to regulatory, payer, and departmental documentation standards.

  • Attends scheduled staff meetings and participates in the planning, development, implementation and quality improvement of behavioral health services.

  • Participates in the on-call responsibilities for this position as required.

  • Other duties as assigned.

For positions supported by PCCD through VOCA funds in cost center 7588 Lancaster County Children's Alliance Center, the incumbents will be working solely with VOCA eligible victims of crime.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology or a related field. (Higher levels of training Psy.D., Ph.D will be considered but are not required.)

  • Must be currently licensed by the State of Pennsylvania to practice independently: LCSW, Licensed Psychologist, LPC or LMFT

  • Two (2) years’ experience in mental health as a primary therapist, or functional experience in therapeutic relationships as a primary clinician in another level of behavioral health care.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Two (2) years experience in individual, group or family therapy.

  • The position requires the ability to attend to more than one aspect of a situation simultaneously. It is highly likely that multiple task demands are going to be required of the individual at the same time.

New Learning and Memory:

  • A large portion of this position required reliance on verbal memory and new learning. Efficiency in processing of verbal information, either in written or spoken form, is a major requirement and prerequisite of the job. The individual must be able to attend to and process multiple bits of information simultaneously. The individual must be able to organize and categorize this information effectively so that later recall is feasible.

Problem Solving, Reasoning and Creative Thinking:

  • The position required much autonomy of thought and problem solving. The individual must be able to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to define problems. The individual must be able to think abstractly, which is manifested in the ability to form concepts, use categories, generalize from single instances, apply procedural rules and general principles, and be aware of subtle or intrinsic aspects of a problem. The development of hypothesis and potential solutions to problems involves careful interpretation, analysis and diagnosis. The individual must be able to collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. The individual must be able to think creatively with a degree of inventiveness, experimentation and intuition. They must be able to deal with a variety of concrete and abstract variables.
