Pediatric Specialty Care at Lancaster is seeking a dependable and caring team player to join our team as a Activity Assistant.

Pediatric Specialty Care is dedicated to meeting the unique needs of medically complex and technology dependent individuals ranging from birth to 21 years of age. It is evident to our residents and their families that whether we are helping to transition a child back to their family’s home or celebrating a resident’s small, yet miraculous achievement, we are deeply committed to their physical, psychological and spiritual well-being every step of the way.
We are currently seeking a n Activities Assistant to ensure each residents’ social, emotional and developmental needs are met through a variety of 1:1 and group activities.
Responsibilities
Day-to-Day tasks include, but are not limited to:
Ensure activities are prepared for the day
Facilitate group and individual activities per the monthly Activities Calendar
Assist residents in their daily care, as needed
Document activity participation and goals’ progress
Accompany residents on community outings
Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited high school or GED
Must be 21 years or older
Artistic background or previous instruction from a certified activity consultant
Ability to lead group programs
Previous experience working in an activities department in long term care or hospital setting
This position requires regular interaction with residents, coworkers, visitors, and/or supervisors. In order to ensure a safe work environment for residents, coworkers, visitors, and/or supervisors of the Company, and to permit unfettered communication between the employee and those residents, coworkers, visitors, and supervisors, this position requires that the employee be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language at an intermediate or more advanced level.
