Group Summary

The Manufacturing Engineer identifies opportunities for improvement in the manufacturing process/methods and works with supervisors and other engineers to implement initiatives through lean systems & processes which facilitate production activity increasing throughput and minimizing system waste. The role also involves providing production support in areas of safety, quality, throughput improvement, line balancing, engineering problems and cost reductions, etc.

REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:

  • Engineering Degree or equivalent combination of education and work-related experience

  • 5 years related work experience in industrial/lean engineering field.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and job-related software

  • Good command of the English language both verbal, written and the ability to communicate to the customer.

  • Mathematical/Analytical and proven problem-solving skills

  • Good organizational, leadership, interpersonal and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and use discretion and tact.

DUTIES:

  • Supports plant by recommending productivity and lean systems improvements/initiatives.

  • Supports Manager in program establishment and follows-up all program stages (timing, concept, feasibility, design, construction, try-out, launch, final buy-off, prototype programs & engineering changes.

  • Prepares drawings and material specifications as required by departments

  • Analyze manufacturing data and based on the observations, give guidelines for standard operations.

  • Work towards increasing the efficiency of the manufacturing unit

  • Conducts method analysis and improvements to work station design including recommendations to replace equipment.
