The successful candidate will be responsible for managing environmental siting, planning, and permitting for renewable energy, natural gas, and electric projects. This role requires a professional with a proven history of managing and leading renewable, natural gas, and electric energy projects, including developing proposals and cost estimates, executing project tasks, managing project budgets and forecasts, ensuring client satisfaction, and mentoring staff.

Your Role:

Manage environmental siting, planning, and permitting for renewable energy, natural gas, and electric projects.

Lead and mentor junior staff while overseeing other programs or serving as a primary resource for the Denver office.

Commit to meeting annual revenue goals and leveraging pre-existing client relationships.

Direct and oversee energy facility siting/routing, permitting, environmental field surveys, resource analysis, agency coordination, and public outreach.

Work with a team to prepare conditional use, land use, right-of-way, and other local jurisdictional permitting efforts.

Manage the preparation of resource studies (e.g., wildlife biology, wetlands, cultural resources) associated with energy project permitting.

Produce permit applications for state utility boards.

Represent clients before federal, state, and local regulatory and land management agencies, boards, planning commissions, and councils.

Prepare project descriptions and summaries, respond to data requests, and present to governing jurisdictions to obtain project approvals.

Work effectively with environmental, regulatory, and land use agencies, such as the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service (USFWS), and federal, state, and local planning departments.

Handle multiple tasks, coordinate effectively with team members, and work independently within a team.

Qualifications:

B.S. or M.S. in Environmental Planning, Environmental Science, Marine Science, Engineering, or a related degree.

11 to 15+ years of experience in environmental planning and project management.

Ability to research and interpret federal, state, and local regulations to assess project permitting feasibility and requirements, and interface with regulatory agencies.

Demonstrated critical thinking, flexible problem-solving abilities, excellent interpersonal communication (oral and written), planning, organizational skills, and attention to detail.

A pre-employment drug screen in compliance with federal regulations is required, along with a physical if needed.

Must possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record without restrictions.

Compensation:

Salary commensurate with experience.

Salary Range: $110,000 - $150,000 yr.

Pay Range - There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience and demonstrated work experience in the above role; skills, certifications, and competencies that align to the specified role; geograp ic location; and education, as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position.
