Responsibilities Overview The Sr. Manager Corporate Transportation is responsible for leading a team that manages tactical freight execution and carrier performance for a complex portfolio of Post Consumer Brands manufacturing and distribution sites. This role provides strategic leadership and cultivates critical carrier partnerships that support Supply Chain service and cost objectives. This position partners cross -functionally to implement programs and develop logistics solutions that improve the efficiency and effectiveness of PCB transportation to support company growth. Working Location: Hybrid This role is located at the Lakeville, MN Corporate office Typical hybrid schedule includes 3 days in-office with remote flexibility up to 2 days a week. #LI-hybrid Responsibilities and Accountabilities Organization and People Development Manage and develop assigned Transportation Planning team members, including hiring, goal setting, performance management, coaching, teamwork, project support, training and daily execution. Develop and foster close relationships with internal and external customers including carrier partners, customer solutions, warehousing, plant operations, sales and sourcing Partner cross-functionally to prioritize and advance initiatives for top-tier customers to meet customer specific freight requirements and optimize delivery efficiency Technical and Functional Expertise Manage third-party provider responsible for end-to-end execution of less-than-truckload deliveries Implement and monitor cost and service objectives and metrics to continuously improve delivery performance Provide sustainable solutions for carrier, lane and customer challenges considering cost, service and industry insights Partner with Procurement to identify and assign transportation partners to adequately satisfy network capacity and capability requirements for short and long term plans Create strategies to mitigate market disruptions and measure cost and service impacts for leadership Develop transportation plans to support network changes, including site start-ups, production shifts and customer realignments Oversee CPU program to ensure compliance by customers and best interests of customers and company are met in a win-win environment Support dedicated carrier programs and monitor carrier performance Ensure that transportation operations are conducted safely and within terms of Company policy, contracts, government regulations and the law Technology Support Document and facilitate process changes/updates for Transportation Planners Monitor freight rate requests and accessorials within PCB’s TMS for compliance to policy Manage access approvals within PCB’s Transportation Management System Utilize data analysis tools/PCB’s TMS to improve daily execution, enhance current capabilities and prepare for future requirements. Qualifications Education: Four year degree from an accredited college or university, preferably in Supply Chain, Business, or other related field of study Experience: 7-10 years industry experience and 5 years experience operating in a supply chain-planning environment in areas of operations, materials management, transportation planning, carrier management or warehousing Minimum 5 years proven people leadership experience required Broad knowledge of logistics processes and planning systems Cost control, cost: benefit analysis and the implementation of productivity improvements. Strong technical understanding of Integrated planning systems functionality (ERP/DRP/WMS/TMS is preferred) Proficiency in data manipulation and analysis, using Tableau, Excel or similar tools Professional certification in supply chain (preferred) Other Characteristics Strong communication and presentation skills Demonstrated good business judgment Understanding of economic principles affecting decisions related to transportation Understanding of modes of transportation, shipping lanes and material handling Ability to use technology as a decision support tool Skill in prioritizing workloads and stress management. Ability to coordinate and move forward on planned activities in a team environment Collaboration, decision-making, problem solving, results orientation, ability to establish clear objectives for self and others Ability to identify and evaluate tactical methods to achieve objectives Ability to identify deviations from plan and facilitate resolution Ability to handle confidential information appropriately Ability to meet the demand plan at the lowest delivered cost to the Customer.
