The purpose of this position is to provide business analysis, consulting, accounting, project, and process improvement support to Vendor Rebate Accounting. The responsibilities listed are not intended to be all-inclusive and additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed. Responsibilities of include:

• overseeing the systems and analysis of Vendor Rebates data prepared by the Vendor Rebate Accounting Analyst (VRAA).

• evaluating the analysis between the buyer bank account and the deferred income balance on the balance sheet and approving the accounting treatment of the vendor funding.

• identifying the need for a Journal Entry (JE), assigning an associate to prepare the JE, and then reviewing/correcting Journal Entries due to analysis and auditing of rebates on P&L and the General Ledger Accounts prior to submittal.

• communicating with Corporate Purchasing departments and providing insight regarding the accounting of vendor rebates by explaining the accounting rules and regulations and the impact of how the promotional funds are used and the time frame in which they are used and how it impacts the gross profit.

Year End Bonus:

To reward associates for their contributions to the company for the calendar year, Publix provides a Holiday Bonus in November. In the first year of continuous employment the bonus is equal to 15 hours of pay, and in the second year of continuous employment the bonus is equal to one week’s pay if associate remains employed through issue date of the bonus check. In subsequent years, the bonus is equal to two weeks’ pay.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or another analytical discipline business experience or equivalent

• 2 years of relevant business experience with experience in financial analysis, planning, process improvements and accounting principles

• Negotiation skills

• Ability to plan and organize projects to meet deadlines

• Strong analytical skills

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master's Degree in Accounting OR Master’s in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting/Finance

• 4 years of relevant business experience with experience in financial analysis, planning, process improvements and accounting principles

• Experience in corporate accounting or finance

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
