Client wants direct placement. $100,000 to $120,000 depending on experience. Monday-Friday 8am-5pm. O.T. when needed. Purpose and Scope: The Laboratory Manager will play a vital role in the success of the Technical Department by leading laboratory operations, overseeing analytical testing procedures, and contributing to quality improvement and throughput in the laboratory.

Responsibilities: Laboratory Management

• Lead a team of 10-15 professionals and technicians, managing day-to-day laboratory operations to ensure efficient workflow, resource allocation, and adherence to safety protocols.
• Improve efficiency and throughput of the services provided by the laboratory.
• Schedule work efficiently.
• Review all assembled reports to ensure quality.
• Oversee equipment maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
• Keep ISO documentation and SOPs up to date.
• Develop and implement quality control procedures to maintain high standards of accuracy and precision in the data and report generation.
• Manage inventory and procurement of laboratory supplies, chemicals, and consumables.
• Execute analytical methods for water and membrane analysis, including but not limited to, chemical composition analysis, membrane performance evaluation, and contaminant detection.
• Understand the principles and be able to interpret data from a variety of analytical instruments and techniques. Experience with instruments such as ICP-OES, TOC, Zeta potential, Streaming Potential, IC, SEM-EDS, Raman, FTIR, and UV-Vis is a plus.

Team Management

• Supervise and mentor laboratory staff, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback to foster professional growth and development.
• Foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment, promoting teamwork, communication, and knowledge sharing among team members.
• Delegate tasks effectively, prioritize workload, and manage deadlines to meet project timelines and deliverables.

Project Management

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan and execute laboratory experiments, research projects, and product development initiatives.

Track project progress, analyze data, and prepare technical reports, presentations, and documentation for internal stakeholders and external partners.

Identify opportunities for process improvement, innovation, and cost optimization to enhance laboratory efficiency and productivity.<
