The General Liability Claims department is comprised of a team of General Liability Specialists, Analysts and Claims Specialists who handle both customer and attorney-represented non-litigated claims.

The General Liability Non-Litigated Claims Supervisor monitors liability claims (both customer and attorney-represented non-litigated and some lower value attorney-represented litigated), which includes investigation, analysis, evaluation, negotiations, and settlements. The Supervisor provides oversight of customer and attorney represented claims which may include personally adjusting sensitive, complex, or high exposure customer liability claims. The goal of the non-litigated unit is to resolve as many customer and non-litigated claims as possible.

Hybrid work environment : many of Publix’s corporate offices offer work from home up to two days a week.

As the General Liability Non-Litigated Claims Supervisor, you will:

• supervise the overall handling of all customer and non-litigated claims and provide oversight of complex or sensitive claims

• supervise and lead a team which includes daily oversight of the claims function by assigning claims and workflow, managing compliance with internally processes, as well as providing necessary training, performance management and HR related functions

• participate in Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) activities through individual improvement activities, Quality Improvement Processes (QIPs) and Project Teams, and claims related meetings

• oversee, manage, monitor, and able to act as the primary adjuster, in specific types of general liability claims and claims handling activities such as complex or high exposure claims, security related claims, vendor involved claims, product related claims, food safety claims, pharmacy claims, claims involving fleet vehicles, etc. This also includes claims where the customer requests supervisory review/handling

• respond to telephone calls and written correspondence regarding liability claims

Potential Annual Pay with Bonus:

Year End Bonus:

As a year-end bonus to associates, Publix issues one month’s extra pay (pro-rated in the first year) each year if associate remains employed through issue date of the bonus check that year. This is calculated as a 13th month of pay in the Potential Annual Pay with Bonus line above.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in any discipline or in the alternative, a high school diploma with 7 years of claims experience

• 5 years of liability claims handling experience

• ability to obtain Florida All Lines Adjuster License upon hire as well as reciprocal licenses for all the states that Publix operates in

• ability to work weekends, holidays, and extended hours

• ability to travel including day trips/local travel, overnight and extended trips

• be at least 20 years of age and have a valid driver’s license and authorization to drive a company vehicle (on or before his or her start date in the position)

Preferred Qualifications:

• 7 years of attorney represented liability claims handling experience with prior supervisory experience; prior litigation experience.

• CCLA, SCLA, CPCU or ARM designation

• actively holds Florida All Lines Adjuster’s License

• fluent in a second language, preferably Spanish

• intermediate skill level in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

• knowledge of Risk Management Claims System and Medicate Reporting System

• knowledge of Publix HR policies and practices
