Summary This National Guard position is for a SUPERVISORY SURFACE MAINTENANCE SPECIALIST, Position Description Number D1252000 and is part of the NJJFHQ, National Guard. The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a supervisor and technical authority over one or more ARNG surface maintenance facilities (e.g., CSMS, MATES, UTES, and/or FMS). Responsibilities As a SUPERVISORY SURFACE MAINTENANCE SPECIALIST, GS-1601-11, you will: Provide direction to ensure the correction of noted deficiencies. Recommend plans to enhance manpower utilization and cost-effectiveness throughout areas assigned. Plan and develop schedules and agendas for shop meetings and responsible for coordinating details. Identify special tools, test equipment requirements, and coordinate procurement as needed. Coordinate manpower data collection for assigned units. Recommends plans to enhance manpower utilization and cost-effectiveness throughout areas assigned. Identify and provide for employee training and development. Find ways, as needed, to improve production or increase the quality of work directed. Develop performance standards.
