Job Responsibilities:
Cash Control
Understand all accounting programs and how they connect to Financial Statements. Training in every area will be part of on-boarding. Implementing control procedures necessary.
Oversees and directs the daily activities of the Accounting Department to achieve company goals. This includes developing and monitoring Finance and Accounting related targets and measures to align with the company's strategic plan.
Prepares and analyzes accurate and timely financial management reports including weekly and monthly financial statements (departmental and company-wide), and annual budgets. Reviews with Profit Center Managers as needed.
Ensures the accurate and timely processing of accounts payable, invoicing, application of customer payments, A/R collections efforts, petty cash, employee expense reports, cash control, and total corporate payroll tax compliance. Also serves as the backup to payroll processing.
Responsible for corporate income tax compliance with CEO and CPA to assure the accurate and timely completion of all corporate income tax returns taking full advantage of all favorable tax codes.
Review, update and maintain systems and controls which verify the integrity of all systems, processes, and data, and enhance the company's value.
Works with our CEO and bank representatives regarding management of bank accounts and loans (loan initial, adjustments, and renewals.)
Works with Profit Center managers to prepare annual budgets and track budget variances.
Directly manages Accounting Department team members which includes hiring, training, evaluation performance, developing individual goals, etc.
Job Duties:
Customer Relations
Interacts positively with all customers
Answers questions and/or refers to appropriate FWH department
Takes steps to resolve problems and/or refers problem to appropriate FWH department
Personnel Management
Trains employees
Manages work schedules and job assignments
Ensures correct use of time clock
Immediately reports all significant personnel problems to CEO & HR, including staffing needs and counseling/disciplinary issues
Consults with CEO & HR regarding performance evaluation and incentive program issues
Accounting Administration
Manages accounting functions including payroll, A/P, A/R, purchasing and inventory, asset and cash control.
Responsible for understanding Sales/Use Tax, occupancy tax and SLA rules for business.
Budget Administration
Helps establish corporate budget
Maintains budget records
Produces scheduled and special financial reports
Assists with financial audits
Produces various financial statements
Performs cost analyses
Company Policies
Follows all policies, including:
Follows attendance policies
Follows dress code
Maintains appropriate relations with other employees
The Accounting position is responsible for
Completion of all work including verifying, processing and posting accounts receivable or accounts payable records, depending on need
Regular or special reports
Verifying account statements, either a/r or a/p
Providing support for reconciliations, end of year schedules and other support activities as necessary
Position Requirements
Degree in Accounting/Finance
3-5 years accounting experience preferred
Basic knowledge of Excel required
