Job Purpose:

The Principal Technical Sales Consultant is a key role in contributing to the growth of the AVEVA\Wonderware distribution channel business within the region, providing outstanding Technical Sales and consultancy support for AVEVA solutions and/or other supported client software. This position will require travel, at times with short notice, to an AVEVA office, distribution channel office, or customer location, anywhere in the region. The job holder will be assigned a Subject Matter Expert role in the Monitor & Control solution domain and is expected to actively seek to transfer product and domain knowledge to the AVEVA\Wonderware distribution channel and systems integration community.

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Enable sales growth throughthe AVEVA\Wonderware distribution channel;

  • Transfer product and domain knowledge to the AVEVA\Wonderware distribution channel and systems integration community;

  • Communicating the value proposition of our solutions to prospects or partners, at presentations, industry events and seminars; 

  • Contributing to the planning, creation, development and delivery of demonstrations that prove the value of our solutions; 

  • Engaging with prospects to understand specific needs/problems and lead/contribute to the development of appropriate technical solutions;

  • Contributing to the planning, creation, organizing and execution of Proof of Capability presentations and demonstrations to prospects that “prove and confirm” the value of our technical solution to their specific needs/problems;

  • Work alone or with development staff to hands-on develop and present demo applications.

Important Working Relationships :

  • Prospects: Develop good working relationships with clients and always provide the highest level of customer service and professionalism;

  • Sales: Work with distribution channel sales teams in identifying and qualifying opportunities, providing technical support at all levels of prospect engagement and ensuring throughout that proposed solutions are workable and are in-line with AVEVA’s strategic objectives;

  • Technical: Work within a dynamic team and show flexibility in the use and development of personal and technical skills to maximize the team’s efficiency;

  • Coaching and mentoring junior employees.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience Required :

  • Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering discipline 

  • Typically, 5 years' experience with AVEVA/Wonderware software products for plant operations, and 2-5 years' experience in a technical sales, pre-sales or business development role 

  • Significant practical experience of the implementation of AVEVA/Wonderware solutions with customers

  • Takes personal responsibility for ensuring customer concerns are solved 

  • Builds working relationships with peers and with members of other teams 

  • Ability to work effectively in a dynamic team 

  • Good problem-solving skills and the ability to investigate the needs/problems of prospective customers 

  • The ability to effectively self-manage and handle multiple and possibly competing commitments simultaneously 

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Salary Range:

$175,800.00 - $293,200.00

This pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation that the position offers, and final compensation can vary within the range depending on work location, job experience, skills, and relevant educational attainment and/or training.
