LAKE DALLAS I S D Payroll Supervisor in Lake Dallas, Texas

Primary Purpose: Prepare and manage payroll activities ofthe district. Develop and implement payroll procedures to ensure timely processing ofpayroll and the applicable payment of all benefits and payroll deductions. Ensure compliance with applicable state and federal laws and regulations.

Qualifications:

**Education/Certification: College degree preferred

Special Knowledge/Skills: Knowledge of local, state, and federal requirements relating to payroll issues and reports Knowledge of auditing and payroll accounting principles Effective communication and interpersonal skills Proficiency skills in keyboarding and file maintenance Ability to work with numbers in an accurate and rapid manner Ability to use software to develop spreadsheets, databases, and do word processing Ability to maintain accurate and auditable records Knowledge of Skyward School Management SoftwareFinancial Management

Experience:

Three years payroll experience at a high level of responsibility Knowledge of school district and TRS Enterprise Application Modernization (TEAM) reporting recommended

Major Responsibilities and Duties: Payroll 1. Initiate and control payroll preparation and production, including regular, special, and supplemental payrolls. Ensure adherence to standards and procedures, and take steps to correct problems, delays, and inaccuracies.

  1. Ensure accuracy of payroll data input and calculations, balancing each payroll prior to check disbursement.
  2. Process payment of all liabilities generated through payroll, including taxes, Teacher Retirement System (TRS) deposits, insurance, etc.

  3. Coordinate payroll operations with other accounting and data processing units, confer with other administrative and technical staff regarding changes and new systems, and participate in developing, implementing, and testing procedures.

  4. Process and resolve direct deposit and other banking interactions. Data Entry

  5. Prepare and post all payroll changes including payroll deductions, salary changes, insurance changes, terminations, and new employee information. Records and Reports

  6. Compile, maintain, and file all physical and computerized reports, records, and other documents required, including auditable records.

  7. Prepare and submit payroll reports and forms including those required by Internal Revenue Service, Teacher Retirement System, and Federal Insurance Contributors Act (FICA).

Leave Administration

  1. Communicate with campus and departmental administration to process daily absence reports

  2. Allocate vacation and leave days to employees.

  3. Manage sick pool leave.

  4. Work cooperatively with HR and Benefits Specialists to process and coordinate all employee leave and absences, including workers compensation claims.

  5. Assist staff with inputting days off in Skyward.

Other

  1. Respond to requests from financial institutions regarding verification of employment.

  2. Maintain confidentiality of information.

  3. Interface with administrators, principals, directors, and staff regarding payroll-related issues. Assist with the equitable resolution of complaints, concerns, and problems in the area of payroll.

  4. Provide True Time support to campus staff and supervise time clock procedures.

  5. Other duties as assigned.
