Position Description:

CGI, one of the largest IT and business consulting services firm in the world is hiring a Software Quality Test Engineer for our growing organization. This opportunity is based in Lafayette, Louisiana.

The candidate will work on Sunflower Assets product suite which is an enterprise-level asset management solution that delivers a single data repository for tactical operations and strategic planning purposes. By providing a holistic, personalized view of every enterprise asset throughout its lifecycle, Sunflower Assets significantly improves organization-wide asset management and internal controls. Sunflower Assets works to substantiate financial reporting, improve utilization, and ensure maximum accountability and proper stewardship of all enterprise assets.

The successful candidate will be a member of a high-performing multi-site agile team working on an enterprise grade software. The Software Quality/Assurance Analyst must be self-motivated with a strong work ethic, time-management, and interpersonal skills. The successful candidate must have demonstrated software engineering and effective communication skills.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

• Collaborate with business owners and derive performance testing requirements

(non-functional criteria)

• Responsible for establishing baseline performance metrics

• Develop in-depth knowledge of Sunflower Systems products

• Develop test plans based on software requirements and technical specifications

• Detect, document and report software failures

• Create test data scripts using various scripting languages and tools

• Create scripts for performance testing

• Execute end-to-end performance tests, analyze test results, identify bottlenecks, and provide recommendations

• Ensure software compliance with general programming best practices and accepted web standards

• Work on continuous improvements of software QA process

• Experience working with relational databases

• Experience in testing web applications, and mobile applications

• Self-motivated, independent and enterprising

• Strong multitasking and organizational skills

• Excellent verbal/written communication skills

• Expertise in the analysis and documentation of business processes

• Expertise in the analysis and troubleshooting of problems

• Experience in documenting defects and test results

• Experience in the creation of test plans, test cases and other technical documents as assigned

• Learning capacity to debug code, analyzes failures, and trace defects to the root cause.

• Bachelors degree and 2 to 4+ years of experience

Desired qualifications/non-essential skills required:

• Exposure to testing Oracle Forms

• Exposure to concepts of Performance & Load Testing

• Familiarity with tools like SQL Developer, TOAD and PL/SQL Developer

• Experience in testing micro services architecture based applications

• Exposure to Linux operating system

• Exposure to debugging Java, and SQL Queries

• Familiarity with Programming Languages:

o Java

o SQL

o PL/SQL

o Perl

o XML

o JavaScript

• Experience of working in JIRA and Confluence

• QA certification or related training will be considered as a plus

• Direct experience with Agile software development projects

The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and license and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit-based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $54,200.00 - $133,500.00.
