PART-TIME PIANO/CHOIR ACCOMPANIST

JOB ANNOUNCEMENT

General Job Description:

Lacey Presbyterian Church seeks a pianist to join the music ministry team beginning in the Fall of 2024 primarily as accompanist for the choir.  There will be weekly choir rehearsals and bi-weekly worship services.  Excellent piano skills and experience in choral accompanying are essential for the position.  The accompanist works closely with the Choir Director and the Pastors.

Job Classification and Supervision.  

This is a part-time position.  Terms and conditions of employment for this position are set by the Personnel committee of the session and the schedule of the church. This position reports to the Choir Director and is overseen by the Worship Committee.

Necessary Skills and Qualifications:

• Ability to play hymns, contemporary music and choir music of a variety of styles on the piano.
• Willingness and ability to practice sufficiently to maintain a high quality of music.
• Ability to work collaboratively with others.
• Has good organizational and communication skills.
•  Experience with and basic knowledge of church music desired.

• Flexibility, sight-reading and improvising abilities desired.
