Harbor Wholesale Merchandising Coordinator in Lacey, Washington

The Merchandising Coordinator position is focused on managing our schematic software and planogram upkeep in conjunction with the Category Management team. The Merchandising Coordinator is responsible for creating, managing and ensuring our Merchandising Solutions schematics in a way that maximizes sales. This involves coordinating with various departments like marketing, sales, purchasing and category managers as well as engaging with our manufacturer partners This position utilizes skills that are derived from front-end merchandising planogram structures and knowledge of in-store product mix and functional components which will comprise focus on data integration and analysis for schematic programming for item recommendation(s) and performance. This position is an office/hybrid-based corporate position requiring substantial software skills.

Compensation: $31.38 - 38.00 per hour + bonus program.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Develop timely category schematics for various item types that support our retailers, the Harbor Category Management team, and the Harbor Store Solutions teams multiple times per year.
  • In depth usage of category assortment software in partnership with Blue Yonder/JDA incorporating strong to advanced functionality with Excel, pivot tables, V lookup, NAV and Syndigo.
  • Create and facilitate reporting in conjunction with Category Management team around planogram performance at regular cadences.
  • Participate in and prepare for annual strategic category planning sessions with vendor partners and Category Management team where planogram review is the top focus.
  • Item building -- Collect all information to set up items for customers and then communicate to all interested internal and external parties about completion of item builds.
  • Lead independent projects on a trimester basis based around pricing processes, efficiency, and accuracy.
  • Cross train with other pricing team members to be able to fill in for them as needed.
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned by Director of Merchandising.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of retail operations and merchandising principles
  • Experience in item, planogram, and schematic setup and maintenance is preferred
  • Knowledge of ERP systems is a plus
  • Experience in purchasing is a plus
  • In-store merchandising or retail sales experience is a plus also.

Education and Experience:

  • Some college preferred; 2-5 years' experience within a high-volume retail or wholesale environment and additional data administration within a wholesale/retail/DSD or other consumer distribution environment will be preferred.
  • Intermediate-Advanced MS Office Suite skills with emphasis on advanced Excel will be strongly preferred; faster than average learning speed will be highly valued.
