The Climate Pollution Reduction Program (CPRP) is looking to fill a* Climate Pollution Reduction Rulemaking Planner (Environmental Planner 3) (In-Training) position. This position is located in our *Headquarters Office in* *Lacey, WA.{rel="nofollow"} Upon hire, you must live within a commutable distance from the duty station.

As the Climate Pollution Reduction Rulemaking Planner in the Policy and Planning Section, you will project manage and engage with rulemaking and projects that provide the regulatory foundation to ensure a healthy environment for Washingtonians. You'll be analyzing and developing rules to implement major climate pollution reduction legislation, such as the Motor Vehicle Emissions Standards, Limiting Greenhouse Gas Emissions, Hydrofluorocarbons Emissions Reduction, Climate Commitment Act, and the Clean Fuels Program. This is an exciting opportunity for a strong communicator and critical thinker, with a passion for the environment and project management to join this dynamic team.

There is an additional project-funded Rulemaking Planner position that we hope to recruit for with this job announcement. The second position will be funded through June 30th, 2026.

Note: *This position offers a career path and on-the-job training. This position allows you to progress through the *Environmental Planning *field and achieve the goal class of an *Environmental Planner 3 (EP3). Candidates will be considered at the EP2 and EP3 levels, depending on their qualifications. For salary levels for each, please see the qualifications section.

*Program Mission: *The Climate Pollution Reduction Program's (CPRP's) mission is to implement policies and programs to reduce carbon emissions in the state of Washington so that the state meets its statutory greenhouse gas emission limits. The CPRP focuses long term, requiring creative and strategic decision making for implementation to achieve broad statewide and interstate success reducing carbon emissions in the state of Washington so residents have a healthy environment and climate.

Tele-work options for this position: *This position will have flexibility of a hybrid schedule, empowering work from home and office, providing less time in traffic and shrinking your carbon footprint. This position will be eligible for up to an 80% tele-work schedule, with Tuesdays in-office, program-wide. *Applicants with questions about position location options, tele-work, and flexible or compressed schedules are encouraged to reach out to the contact person listed below in "other information."
