Global Product Director, Engine Systems

Key Job Elements:

• Develop and Drive Strategic projects and products to meet customer requirements;

• Manage the product lifecycle process and long term product strategies;

• Responsible for ensuring compliance with government and legal issues affecting the market across all global markets;

• Participate effectively in a high performing team capable of delivering high level commercial strategy in global markets to provide revenue and profitable growth;

• Assist the sales team in value selling technics allowing them to present commercial offerings that have a clear rate of return for both the customer and PR;

• Establish creative proposal concepts and specific incentives that apply to the various global accounts;

• Proactive collaboration with, Advanced Rail Technology, Aftermarket Services, and Account Managers s to align locomotive commercial strategy and future product development;

• Target Fuel Savings, Emissions Reductions, Durabity Improvements and Reliability improvement initiatives with a positive value proposition for our customer base;

• Lead collaborative Sales workshop sessions;

• Contribute to competitive analysis and identify gaps and opportunities in the Global Rail Market for engines/engine systems.

• Research and understand emerging customer behaviors and technologies that may impact Progress Rail Locomotive business;

• Provide higher level engagement for Railroad network operations, transportation, and IT to develop relations and drive customer value strategies that go beyond traditional touch points;

• Coordination of 5-year aftermarket and services sales forecast;

• Collect and manage competitive intelligence for North America.

Qualifications and Experience:

Required

• 8+ years of rail experience;

• Project, Product, Manufacturing or Lean Management experience;

• Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills;

• Proven interpersonal, communication and presentation skills;

• Proven ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization.

Preferred Skills and Experience

• Strong knowledge of Progress Rail products and services;

• Strong industry experience in locomotive and locomotive technologies;

• Strong understanding of the competitive locomotive environment in which the customers operate, railroad value drivers, and industry issues;

• Financial Acumen, from both internal and customer perspectives.

Essential and Physical Activities Functions

• Strength – Position typically involves office managerial work as well as oversight in an industrial environment. Frequent standing, sitting, and walking. Occasional light to medium-level lifting (up to 30 pounds);

• Motion – Position regularly requires standard motions associated with an office environment as well as standard motions associated with leading and demonstrating in an industrial environment;

• Vision/Hearing Requirements – Constant verbal communications, including both talking and hearing;

• Work Environment – Position will occasionally require the use of Personal Protective Equipment. Position may involve work in a non-temperature-controlled environment. Position is located in an industrial environment, including occasional exposure to noise (85+ decibels), occasional exposure to temperature changes, and other hazardous working conditions;

• Emotional Demands – Very high level of responsibility. Must be able to coordinate diverse aspects of a project. Requires significant interpersonal skills while sustaining very high standards;

• Safety – Position will occasionally require the use of Personal Protective Equipment.
