Trane Technologies is hiring a Materials Supervisor in La Crosse, Wisconsin. In this role you will direct and coordinate the daily activities of warehouse staff to receive, store, and deliver material in cost effective, timely, accurate, and efficient manner. The Materials Supervisor is responsible for implementing and driving change in a high volume, fast-paced, lean manufacturing environment. Interacts daily with department supervisors/leaders in Operations, Quality, Human Resources, Finance, Manufacturing Engineering, and Continuous Improvement.

This position has been designated as full-time, onsite at our La Crosse, WI facility on a weekend shift schedule, and is considered safety-sensitive.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for overall performance of the assigned work group, including safety, quality, cost, and schedule performance.

  • Supervises the activities of warehouse associates to support material handling and production requirements. Evaluates team performance and conducts or coordinates training as appropriate.Maintains staffing requirements and training records.

  • Actively supports inbound and outbound material flow and inventory accuracy objectives.Maintains visual management systems and warehouse transactional accuracy.Maintains 5S and PFEP strategy with well-organized warehouse space and lineside staging areas.

  • Oversees material withdrawals to assure appropriate inventory is available to maintain smooth production flow.Tracks operational performance and drives continuous improvement efforts.

  • Maintains physical condition of warehouse and equipment by directing inspections and issuing work orders for repair and requisitions for replacement.

  • Maintains and adjusts warehouse layout and operational design.Maintains inventory locators, material conveyance routes, and material triggering systems.

  • Provide effective team relationship by ensuring employment practices are fair and consistent.Uphold work rules, policies and procedures, collective bargaining agreement, and maintain time and attendance for payroll.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; 5+ years of related experience required in lieu of degree.

  • Must possess sound interpersonal skills and work effectively in a team environment.

  • Excellent problem solving and conflict management skills.

  • Lean or Six Sigma experience preferred.

  • Supervisory experience preferred.

  • Oracle R12 experience preferred.

  • Experience in operations, inventory management, visual management systems, Microsoft Office products, inventory control/shipping software, MRP and lean manufacturing processes.

  • Experience operating warehouse equipment preferred.

  • Experience in a union environment preferred.

Base Pay Range: $70,000 - $90,000
