JOB REQUIREMENTS: We are seeking a skilled Hydrographer to join our team. The ideal candidate can be based anywhere in the U.S. and will travel to jobsites to perform field hydrographic surveys, post-process data, and report findings. Hydrographer Responsibilities: Conducting hydrographic and bathymetric surveys, including data collection and processing. Calibration and troubleshooting of dredge positioning systems. Reporting survey results and sediment sampling data to colleagues and supervisors. Verifying survey data accuracy and preparing related documentation. Using advanced surveying instruments and GPS technologies for precise measurements. Coordinating with engineering and technical teams, clients, and others. Training and supervising assistants in survey tasks. Researching and developing survey methods and instrument modifications. Traveling frequently (75-100% of the time). Hydrographer Qualifications: 3-5 Years of experience within the hydrographic industry preferred. S. or B.S. in Surveying and Mapping, Natural Resources or similar curriculum preferred. Professional state license and or nationally recognized hydrographic certification preferred. Experience utilizing bathymetric survey tools including single-beam and multi-beam echo-sounders. Strong technical skills in hydrographic surveying and data analysis. Proficiency in using GPS technologies, total stations, and leveling instruments.
