Chef

Hiring Salary Range: $37,000 – $56,000

Compensation is determined by a combination of factors, including but not limited to education, work experience, and certifications. The actual offer may vary, reflecting the candidate's unique blend of experience, educational background, and skill level.

The Chef is responsible for directing, planning and managing tasks necessary to ensure excellent customer experiences in Dairyland Power Cooperative’s Riverside Café, while maintaining compliance with all health and safety regulations.

The Impact You'll Make In This Role:

  1. Responsible for nutritional menu planning and execution.

  2. Supervise and train Assistant Chefs.

  3. Responsible for ensuring compliance with Department of Health Standards.

  4. Coordinate and prepare fulfillment of Cafeteria Requests.

  5. Responsible for preparation and serving of individual employees and groups in the Riverside Café and conference rooms, which will include breaks, lunches and some evening events.

  6. Maintain inventory of food stock, while being aware of pricing and availability. Ensure accurate tracking of all purchases via vendor invoices and a Dairyland issued credit card.

  7. Responsible for proactive cleanliness of kitchen and dining room.

  8. Responsible for all necessary record keeping.

  9. Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education & Experience: Degree in a culinary arts field with three (3) years progressively responsible work-related experience. Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered

Skills: Strong customer service focus. Nutritional menu planning and execution of daily food service. Knowledge of safe operation of kitchen equipment.

Licenses and Certifications: Meet and maintain WI ServSafe certification. Ensure issuance of La Crosse County Restaurant certification

Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand for long periods of time; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; lift 25 lbs. frequently, 40 lbs. occasionally.
