We are currently recruiting for a Senior Flood Modeler with experience in flood risk management or flood forecasting to join our busy and expanding experienced team. The team provides assessment, concept, feasibility, preliminary and detailed designs on a wide range of projects and environmental studies. Our clients are from the private and public sector and include long term Framework Agreements with numerous Local Authorities. Our group has an established track record of successfully providing flood risk analysis throughout the UK, USA and Australia, not to mention Canada or Middle East. You may have the opportunity to work as part of a diverse and multicultural team, learning from our hi-tech flood risk management colleagues across the world.

The responsibilities of this role include:

  • Works as part of a flood risk management team with other engineers at the same functional level that can be from different EC offices (Poland, Spain, India, etc). Undertakes non-routine, medium complex projects supported by EC.

  • Coordinates and leads small teams focused on hydraulic/flood modelling.

  • Works autonomously within established procedures and practices, with latitude to determine work priorities.

  • Performs quality control review of calculations and technical report.

  • Ensures that project technical goals/milestones/budgets are met.

  • Prepares complex project deliverables using a team of junior technical and support staff, providing supervision to and mentoring less experienced staff.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • Proven track record of working on flood risk assessment and hydraulic modelling (+8 years).

  • Experience with international regulations and standards related to flood assessment.

  • Proficiency in 1D-2D hydraulic modelling using any of the following software: Flood Modeller Pro, TUFLOW, InfoWorks ICM or HEC-RAS.

  • Proven commitment with Quality Control Policy and Quality Management System.

  • Ability to solve complex issues with limited direction.

  • Well versed on Digital Engineering techniques, especially on GIS platforms.

  • Demonstrable international experience, with special focus in the UK (Consultancy or Local Authorities) performing Flood Risk Analysis.

  • Fluent in English (oral and written).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor or Master degree in Civil, Environmental or Water Engineering or related field.
