Senior Finance Account Manager - Team Manager

With over 300 employees, the EMEA Finance Centre in Krakow provides financial services for Aon entities in multiple countries. In this role of Senior Account Manager - Team Manager you will have the chance to be part of a large multinational team who works with a portfolio of international Aon Captive & Insurance Managers (ACIM) clients. As Team Manager you will be responsible for managing dedicated team of Account Managers and partnering with Business Leaders and Business Partners. ACIM is an integral part of Aon Global Risk Consulting (AGRC), which is the risk consulting business for Aon. ACIM specialises in alternative risk transfer, risk finance and the formation & management of captive insurance companies. The work can be divided into four main areas: Insurance / Reinsurance, Accounting / Finance, Risk Control, Legal / Taxation / Compliance.

What the day will look like

Account Manager:

  • Control and administrate the total (re)insurance portfolio of the captives

  • Control and register all reinsurance agreements, both for incoming and outgoing business.

  • Control that the right premium is paid to the captive within the agreed time.

  • Check that losses claimed by insurance companies are in accordance with agreements and policies and arrange for the payment of these claims as well as the system registration of them.

  • Produce statistical reports on the insurance business on special request from the clients.

  • The daily bookkeeping, update and control of the bank accounts of the clients.

  • Accounting of changes in value of investments as well as forex adjustments on banks and investments.

  • Calculation of technical reserves for both incoming and outgoing business in connection with book-closings.

  • Production of financial reports for the clients within the deadlines given by each client.

  • Preparing the general ledger and the management trial balances for the annual audit of each client.

  • Preparation of reporting and coordination of the reporting process to the regulator and any other reports required by the local authorities.

  • Preparation of documents for board meetings and annual general meetings of the clients.

    Team Manager:

  • Act as a leader to the dedicated Account Managers team (8-10 FTEs), including recruiting, developing, and retaining a highly skilled and engaged workforce capable of delivering excellent financial controls and business

  • Driving and supporting continuous process improvement and standardisation in order to increase efficiency

  • Ensure delivery against agreed Service Level Agreements and Key Performance Indicators

  • Acting as a point of contact for client finance departments and multi-function business leaders

  • Representing the team in meetings with internal and external customers, steering groups and other client functions

  • Participate in regular operational review calls with Business Partners and Business Leaders

  • Act as a champion of standardisation within the team and across the CoE and client finance

  • Ongoing training of team members

  • Identifying and resolving recurring performance problems and improvement opportunities

    Skills and experience that will lead to success

  • Minimum 7 years of complex accounting experience

  • Knowledge of financial technical accounting

  • Fluency in English

  • Knowledge of Microsoft tools Word (good) and Excel (very good) in addition to exposure to at least one accounting software package

  • ACCA/ACA or equivalent accountancy qualification will be a plus

  • Experience in the Re-Insurance industry is a plus

  • Experience in managing a team in a fast changing environment would be an advantage

  • A natural thirst for development of yourself and your team members

  • Transition experience is desirable

  • Excellent interpersonal skills

  • An ability to continually seek to improve
