Job purpose

The Regional Procurement Manager will be the focal point for all Procurement & Supply Chain activities relating activity in relation to the business unit, and will work in conjunction with the category managers in order to ensure that the business unit is effectively represented in both the development of category strategies, and in their implementation. They will also ensure the procurement processes across their sites are managed efficiently and provide a robust, cost-effective inbound supply chain and service to internal and external customers. This will include supporting day to day procurement and supply chain activity ensuring all direct and indirect site requirements are met with consideration to Cost, Quality and Service elements as well as leading and supporting site, divisional and group procurement initiatives. The regional procurement manager will also be responsible for all business unit purchasing activity that is outside of the scope of the category management program including supplier selection, price negotiation etc.

How you will impact on WestRock

  • Responsibility for the performance of the inbound supply chain into their sites.

  • Develop and implement effective procurement and supply chain strategies and solutions in partnership with the category management team. Provide leadership and support to the sites in relation to any purchase and supply chain issues, and escalate as appropriate.

  • Responsibility for a team of individuals in the Region, setting clear direction and coaching and developing talent to meet stretching goals.

  • Daily issues management and building effective partnerships with suppliers within a framework of Cost and Service - Manage vendor relationships (at plant and business unit level) to determine root cause of problems and take the necessary corrective and preventative action. Support Quality teams in the resolution of Quality failures.

  • Ownership of raw material working capital, including supplier raw materials pipeline, site raw material stocks and payment term optimization.

  • Provide the link to the sales and commercial team in terms of raw materials costs and availability.

Development and implementation of a business unit specific savings plan (made up of both category and business unit supply chain cost reduction initiatives), ensuring key stakeholders are engaged in the process. * Track and manage purchasing / cost reduction activity within the business unit. Manage cross business unit / regional cost reduction projects where appropriate / delegated and work in conjunction with the relevant Category Manager as appropriate to deliver savings opportunities.

  • Own the Regional Purchasing Strategy for their area fully understanding and representing the sites individual needs.

  • Review and align site purchasing processes (procure to pay process) to ensure efficient and consistent methods are adopted with best practice shared across the sites and the Division.

  • Audit site purchases to ensure adherence to group/divisional supply agreements.

  • Ensure supplier performance is measured and managed in terms of Quality, Cost and Service.

  • Gather, analyze and provide site supply chain data to support local and divisional requirements.

What do you need to success?

  • Graduate calibre.

  • Preferably a minimum of 3 years’ experience of procurement and supply chain management in a multi-site manufacturing environment.

  • Fluent English

  • Preferably a minimum of 3 years’ experience of procurement and supply chain management in a multi-site manufacturing environment.

  • Strong interpersonal, analytical, influencing and negotiating skills.

  • Organisational and priority management skills, requirement to travel between sites.

  • Computer literate, including Microsoft and PECAS experience

  • Results focused with sound commercial and financial awareness

  • Presentation/communication skills.

  • Ability to prioritise workload and manage multiple projects across multiple locations.

  • Experience of leading a team to deliver strong business results
