Position Summary
Our Nestlé Research and Development Center in Konolfingen (NRDK), Switzerland, develops for Nestlé worldwide, new products, processes and packaging concepts in the areas of Milk, plant-based and Nutrition products. This includes various process and filling technologies for liquid, powder or sterile products. In addition, it also provides technical assistance and engineering support for major Capital Investment Projects (CAPEX) to our factories.
As a member of our local Site-Engineering team you will support with your technical expertise and in close collaboration with your colleagues the daily pilot plant operations as well as the evaluation, design and implementation of local investment projects.
A Day in the Life of an Engineering Specialist - Site Operations
Prepare high-level feasibility studies by asking the right questions to get a broad picture without going into too many details for new process and product ideas
Prepare projects in further details to submit budget requests taking in account the various internal and external stakeholders of the NRDK
Lead and execute the projects on site safely and in close collaboration with the various team members and specific operational functions leading to a successful commissioning, start-up and documented handover
Assist our technicians/operators in troubleshooting and more complex root cause analysis on site
Help to improve the asset intensity of our pilot plant and production facilities with detailed data analysis and specific process know-how
Develop and drive sustainable solutions to meet our net zero goal by challenging and improving the status-quo
Support the exploration and development of new technologies/products and help to qualify and industrialize them
What will make you successful
Engineering degree (preferably process or mechanical)
Experience in food industry including hygienic requirements and process engineering are an advantage but not a must
Excellent networking and communication skills
Manage project and jobs with an end to end (E2E)-mindset (start with a clearly defined and well aligned scope ending up in successful handover including proper documentation)
Passionate about making a difference in the professional environment
Strong problem-solving skills as part of a bigger team and willing to apply them also in the field
Full commitment to compliance (legal, safety, quality, finance) for all activities
Willingness to develop specific expertise in defined areas to be the local subject matter expert
Fluent in German and English (B2 or better)
