Engineering Project Manager

Opportunity

As a Senior Project Engineer in the Product Engineering department, you'll be at the forefront of driving new ideas and profitability in our Kitchen & Bath product categories. Your role is pivotal in coordinating global cost reduction initiatives while ensuring top-notch quality and exceeding customer expectations. You will partner with engineers, purchasing, and manufacturing to coordinate focused cost-out events. You’ll perform critical functions including collecting ideas and coordinating with engineering managers to assign resources and translate concepts into reality: translating data, best practices, and insights between the global centers of excellence and individual engineers and teams.

Specific Responsibilities

•Strategic Resource Allocation: Utilize your savvy engineering skills and technical project management expertise to direct resources to areas with the highest potential for savings.

•Risk Management and Coordination: Monitor risks and opportunities while serving as a dynamic point of contact to coordinate seamlessly across functions, ensuring smooth cross-functional collaboration.

•Monthly Progress Reviews: Lead engaging monthly progress reviews, fostering alignment with associates and leaders across functions, while partnering with the Director of Engineering to accelerate savings initiatives.

•Data Management Mastery: Manage the monthly flow of data between engineering departments and the cost savings center of excellence, ensuring accuracy and alignment to drive informed decision making.

•Collaboration: Collaborate with various teams to ensure product changes align with codes & standards, as well as our customer value proposition, while fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.

•Inspiring Leadership: Demonstrate positive leadership behaviors, inspiring fellow associates to think creatively and enthusiastically explore additional opportunities for growth and savings.

•Cost Optimization Expertise: Navigate cthrough pareto analysis, VA/VE methodologies, competitor benchmarking, tear downs, and more to drive impactful cost savings projects.

•Design Excellence: Utilize Creo software to prepare alternate design concepts, establish requirements, optimize designs, and validate changes through rigorous testing and analysis.

•Efficient Implementation: Implement Bill of Material changes aligned with engineering change requests, seamlessly releasing revised designs into production systems for efficient execution.

Skills/Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree Engineering required from an ABET accredited university. Mechanical engineering is preferred. Demonstrated mechanical aptitude can be otherwise acceptable.

• PMP certification is preferred or demonstrated success in leading complex projects.

• A minimum of 4 years related work experience in execution of cost reduction VA/VE, design improvement projects, or product engineering.

• Demonstrated ability to drive solid engineering solutions to complex problems.

• Comprehensive knowledge of manufacturing processes such as aluminum extrusion, machining, and plastic injection molding.

• Demonstrated ability apply design methodologies to incorporate different needs such as: manufacturability, assembly, serviceability, safety, cost, etc.

• Strong communication skills to partner with resources around the globe.

• Proficiency in PTC Creo Software or similar CAD tools, MS Office tools

Applicants must be authorized to work in the US without requiring sponsorship now or in the future.

The salary range for this position is $89,800 - $114,100. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s experience, their education, and the work location. Available benefits include medical, dental, vision & 401k.
