Manager - Landscape Operations - Destination Kohler

Work Mode: Onsite

Location: Kohler, WI

Opportunity

This position oversees the maintenance and enhancement of the landscaping of Kohler Co. properties. Oversees the planning and execution of construction and maintenance of Kohler Corporate landscapes. Responsible for achieving goals and objectives assigned to the landscape function. Responsible for quality standards and image of landscape for the Kohler Co properties.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the collaboration with property customers to understand their landscaping needs and preferences. Documenting customers asks and concerns and providing possible landscape solutions.

  • Develop and maintain annual budgets, forecasts, operating expenses.

  • Champion capital planning and project execution for recurring and one-time projects on a rolling 10-year forecast.

  • Oversee the maintenance design integrity of all landscapes and materials such as herbaceous plants, road/path surfaces, grass, shrub and tree species, land contours, mowing heights and related buildings/structures.

  • Responsible for recruitment, hiring, training, and development of all landscape construction and maintenance personnel to accomplish standards for landscape above industry standards and agreed standards for businesses.

  • Lead and develop team members through projects, career discussions, training, and feedback sessions.

  • Responsible for associate and equipment reports and miscellaneous reports as required.

  • Responsible for contributions to Hospitality and Corporate businesses as related to improving or enhancing Corporate and Hospitality image through landscape.

  • Responsible for the water quality of Wood Lake and functionality of landscape water features and irrigation systems.

  • Champion safety initiatives, including training and reporting.

  • Direct and inspect conditions to ensure expectations are maintained in turf conditions, herbaceous plants, woody trees and shrubs and hardscapes and oversee the execution of daily preparations on all properties.

  • Keep abreast of all new developments in the field of landscape maintenance and design.

  • Act as a liaison between field operations and the administrative, customer service, and general management functions.

  • Direct snow and ice removal operations, managing on-call lists and being available to work some evenings and weekends.

Skills/Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree, or equivalent experience in agronomy/horticulture/turf,and/or soil sciences required.

  • Proven leadership, sophisticated supervisory abilities; excellent communication skills and organizational abilities.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong time management skills, patient, meticulous

  • 5+ years of experience as a Landscape Manager

  • Certified and/or licensed in pesticide application.

  • Experience with resort landscape maintenance desired.

  • Valid driver’s license required.

The salary range for this position is $112,300 - $140,350. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s experience, their education, and the work location. Available benefits include medical, dental, vision & 401k.
