Associate Product Manager, Housewares

Work Mode: Hybrid

Location: Hybrid at Kohler, WI

Opportunity

Under the direction of the GM – Category Mgmt, Cast Iron & Kitchens, the Associate Product Manager is responsible for developing and implementing marketing and strategic plans for the Housewares business. Primary responsibilities are development & execution of new product roadmap and managing a product portfolio to achieve short- and long-term business objectives; ultimately measured through achievement of net sales and net margin plans.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Operate as the marketing authority on multiple new product development projects. Develop effective working relationships with cross functional peers to launch the best products in the industry.

  • Drive product launch process. Provide comprehensive business strategy, sound project scope definitions and marketing analysis in all phases of product development. Deliver appropriate resources and tools to the organization to ensure successful introduction of new products.

  • Serve as the industry expert for Housewares category, delivering a deep understanding of the competitive landscape and of consumer lifestyle trends, needs and wants. Gain in-depth knowledge of product materials, manufacturing, and supply chains.

  • Develop a market-based pricing strategy that contributes to overall profitability and agreed-upon manufacturing margin targets. Drive pricing strategy from review through creation and approval of annual pricing ACT.

  • Demonstrate category leadership through product innovation, evolution of go-to-market tactics and effective product life cycle management.

  • Lead efforts to incorporate market and customer insights into the demand planning process to improve operations efficiencies, optimize inventory and deliver products to the customer on-time.

  • Assist in the development and implementation of product training programs. This will include initial training prior to new product launches, as well as vendor-specific focused training throughout a product’s life cycle.

Skills/Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing or related field.

  • 2+ years prior experience in Sales or Marketing in a related field with progressively more responsibility and a track record of results is required.

  • Must possess a keen analytical mind, be strong on planning, detail and accuracy, and be able to craft and execute a strategic plan for the category.

  • Must possess substantial skills in written and oral communication with all levels of Management and with outside contacts.

  • Travel 10-15%

  • Hybrid work mode in Kohler, WI - 3 days/week onsite

Applicants must be authorized to work in the US without requiring sponsorship now or in the future.

The salary range for this position is $89,800 - $114,100. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s experience, their education, and the work location. Available benefits include medical, dental, vision & 401k.
