Job Summary:
The prep cook will support the kitchen chef by preparing ingredients, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring a smooth workflow in the kitchen. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and chop vegetables and ingredients for salads, toppings, sauces, sides, and fish.
- Measure and mix ingredients according to recipes.
- Prep cook is responsible for breading/frying fish, as well as assembling sandwiches/burgers/tacos and adding finishing touches before they leave the kitchen.
- Prepare orders for the restaurant and to go as they come in.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, including utensils, cooking equipment, and food storage areas.
- Assist with inventory management by checking stock levels and reporting shortages to the manager.
- Must obtain food handlers card and follow food safety and sanitation guidelines to ensure a safe cooking environment.
- Support chef during service by ensuring plates/serve ware are ready for orders as they come in, and everything youll need to assemble dishes is prepped and ready to be used.
- Clean and sanitize work areas, cutting boards, and kitchen equipment after use.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a kitchen setting is preferred but not required.
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
- Physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift heavy items.
Pay
: Dependent on experience. Starting pay is $18-$22/hr.
