Job Title: Certified Medical Assistant
Job Description
As a Medical Assistant (CMA/RMA) specializing in cardiology, you will assist the provider throughout the clinic with various duties. Your primary role will involve serving patients over the phone with prescription verification and appointment follow-ups. Additionally, you will handle occasional scheduling, prepare and maintain patient charts, and coordinate appointments, scans, and tests.
Responsibilities
Primarily serve patients over the phone with prescription verification and appointment follow-ups.
Occasionally handle scheduling tasks.
Prepare and maintain patient charts, including insurance, registration, correspondence, laboratory and radiology reports.
Track and request patient records, slides, and films, and document as necessary in the charts.
Schedule and coordinate appointments, scans, and tests; confirm appointments; notify appropriate departments of daily and weekly patient schedules in writing.
Receive incoming calls to assist patients, physicians, and others with patient-related matters.
Relay diagnostic test results to patients per physician's discretion.
Perform BP, TPR, and weight measurements on each patient; alert the physician to any abnormalities.
Conduct medical histories on each patient prior to being seen by the physician.
Maintain medical supplies in each exam room and office supplies in the clerical area.
Essential Skills
MA license
BLS certification
Experience with triage and telehealth services
Proficiency in managing medical records
Strong phone communication skills
