Heavy Truck/Tractor Mechanic - South Mountain Creamery

• South Mountain Creamery is a family-owned dairy farm and home delivery service based in Middletown, Maryland

• We are looking for a mechanic to maintain and repair our fleet of trucks, tractors, and heavy equipment

• You will be responsible for performing the preventative maintenance and timely repairs of our equipment

• You will work closely with our farm crew to schedule maintenance and perform repairs

• Opportunity to perform occasional field work as needed

• Full Time – This position is based in Knoxville, MD

  Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance on all equipment used on the farm

• Repair equipment as necessary

• In the shop or in the field

• Establish and implement a preventative maintenance program for all equipment

• Perform annual DOT inspections of heavy-duty trucks and trailers

• Maintain the shop in an orderly manor

• Maintain common parts and hardware inventory

  Required Qualifications

• Mechanical Proficiency

• Technical Aptitude

• Troubleshooting abilities

• Must be able to troubleshoot and repair heavy-duty trucks, tractors, and heavy equipment

• Reliability

• Ability to safely operate trucks and equipment for diagnostics and testing purposes

• A self-starter that can work independently as well as work with a team

• At least 2 years of experience as a mechanic or similar role

• Ability to use various tools and equipment safely and effectively

• Ability to work in various weather conditions and environments

• Valid driver's license and clean driving record

  Preferred Qualifications

• Class A CDL or the ability to obtain license within two years

• Farm or heavy equipment operating experience

• Basic welding experience
