Armstrong County Community Action Partnership Resource Support Specialist in Kittanning, Pennsylvania
RESOURCE SUPPORT SPECIALIST
Our agency is seeking a talented individual to join our administrative team as a full-time Resource Support Specialist. This key position plays a crucial role in identifying the Social Determinants of Health (SDOH) and true needs of Armstrong County residents. Social Determinates of Health are the conditions in the environments in which people are born, as well as the conditions in which they live, learn, work, worship, etc. that affect their health, their ability to function, and their quality-of-life. Essentially, SDOH indicators are the non-medical factors that significantly impact an individual's health and well-being.
The following is an outline of the tasks and duties performed by the Resource Support Specialist:
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Serve as the agency's first point of contact for office visitors and callers by answering incoming calls and greeting individuals at the secured front door; identify a caller's/ visitor's needs; transfer calls/visitors to appropriate departments.
- Complete a comprehensive onboarding questionnaire with consumers to determine each area of need they may have following SDOH standards.
- Serve as an SDOH case manager by completing a consumer profile, determining the needs and eligibility of the consumer, coordinating consumer services, and following up with the consumer during and after services.
- Conduct research to determine local resources, including government programs, non-profit organizations, and community services.
- Update a comprehensive, multi-county, and user-friendly Resource Guide as needed, and ensure the guide is accessible to diverse populations within the community.
- Collaborate with local organizations, agencies, and community leaders to enhance the guide's comprehensiveness.
- In collaboration with the Executive Director, the Planning and Development Manager, and/or the Marketing Manager, attend community functions and meetings in an effort to stay informed about evolving resources and needs; serve as the agency's representative at those functions.
- Act as a point of contact for resource-related inquiries for external agencies.
- Establish and maintain positive relationships with key stakeholders.
- Assist individuals in navigating the Resource Guide to find relevant services.
- In collaboration with the Executive Director, the Planning and Development Manager, and/or the Marketing Manager, provide training sessions for other professionals or organizations interested in utilizing the guide.
- In collaboration with the Executive Director, the Planning and Development Manager, and/or the Marketing Manager, assist with the development of the agency's comprehensive Community Needs Assessment and Strategic Plan as needed.
The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications:
- Preferred: Associates degree in a related field (Business, Community Administration, Communications, Data Entry, Education, Journalism, Public Administration, Psychology, Social Work, Sociology, etc.) with at least one year related experience.
- Accepted: High School diploma or equivalent (GED) and two - three years of related experience.

``` - Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills. - Professional appearance; positive attitude. - Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team setting. - Computer literate and possess aptitude for learning new software programs. - Possess excellent organizational and problem-solving skills. - Other duties as assigned. - PA State Criminal Background Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance, FBI Fingerprint Criminal Records Check, and Drug Testing Required. - Valid driver's license and good driving record required. - Personal vehicle or access to independent transportation required. - Proof of motor vehicle insurance (for use of personal vehicle) - Must adhere to agency confidentiality standards at all times. - Knowledge of community resources and social services experienced preferred, but not necessary.

Salary range: $14.00-$17.00 / hour and is dependent upon experience and education.
