Astronics Advanced Electronic Systems (AES) is seeking a Software Engineer to join our team of diverse, professional problem solvers in our Ballard Technology Product Group.

This is an on-site position located in Everett, WA and requires ability to travel to Kirkland as needed. The role offers flexibility to work from home part-time, dependent on project needs.

JOB SUMMARY

The Software Engineer will analyze, design, program, debug, and modify software for advanced embedded systems. This role involves troubleshooting firmware applications and tools, often interfacing with both analog and digital hardware and software operating systems.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop and maintain embedded software

• Develop and maintain software tools used by customers, engineering, and manufacturing

• Assist in investigating and resolving software/hardware integration issues

• Assist in customer support and training

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Required ‘Must Haves’ :

• Bachelor degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or other related technical degree is required

• Coursework and/or experience with C++ Coursework and/or experience with the software development lifecycle (planning, requirements, design, implementation, and testing)

• Strong verbal and written communication skills

• Demonstrates familiarity (typically one or more years of direct experience in the duties and responsibilities of the position)

Additional ‘Nice-to-Haves’ :

• Coursework and/or experience with C#, Java or Python

• Experience with embedded software development in C

• Coursework and/or experience with CAN protocols, TCP/IP, Qt framework, and cybersecurity

EMPLOYMENT ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

• As a US Department of Defense Contractor, Astronics is bound by International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Must be a US Person under ITAR to be eligible .

• An offer of employment is contingent on successfully passing a pre-employment background screen and drug test which includes screening for the use of cannabis .

Base salary range is $79,293 - $118,940 per year.

Several job-related and non-discriminatory factors including but not limited to experience in comparable roles, skill sets, training, education, licensure or certifications, other qualifications, market conditions and business needs influence actual salary offered.
