Job Description The Senior Digital Modeler's expertise is generating Class-A CAD surface models using 3D software to translate the design intent, incorporating the technical and engineering criteria and manufacturing feasibility inputs. Their objective is to capture the design intent using Alias through the guidance and direction from the designer. They are responsible for ensuring CAD surface continuity and fidelity, the data transfer and export, and release of high quality Class-A surface data to Engineering groups, suppliers, and support the Modeling Studio property builds. Senior Digital Modeler reports to Design Manager Job Functions and Responsibilities: Proven ability to develop Class-A surfaces utilizing scan data, design sketches, 3D sketch models and verbal direction Works closely with the Studio Engineer, Design and Modeling Studio staff and Engineering to develop designs meeting design requirements and packaging constraints. Develop and release Class-A surface CAD models from approved styling themes using Alias. Understands all phases of the Industrial Design process and has the knowledge and skills to execute multiple projects from concept through to surface release. Develop, manage and release Class-A surface CAD models from approved styling themes to the Studio Engineer. Coordinate packaging constraints with product engineering, PTC, and suppliers to ensure accurate CAD surface models and scale model development. Manage programs and projects to deliver product within schedule and budget targets. Demonstrate ability to handle multiple tasks and rapidly respond to model or packaging revisions and product changes as requested from Product Planning, Engineering and/or Industrial Design staff. Demonstrate professional and successful communication skills (verbal/written) with strong, effective interpersonal abilities. Must be able to identify, prioritize, and coordinate resolution of manufacturing feasibility between Industrial Design and Engineering Design. Requires a proactive approach to defining issues and forcing early resolution and consensus, and able to solve complex surface development with minimal supervision Qualifications and Skills: Bachelor's Degree in Design, Transportation or Engineering related field highly preferred. Minimum of 15 years of experience in creating concept and Class-A advanced digital surfaces required. Minimum of 10 years of professional experience in transportation design studio required. Highly proficient Aliasskills are required. Knowledge of and experience in heavy truck assembly, heavy truck components and systems preferred. Strong
