Job Title: Facilities Technician III (Non RME)
Job Description.
Responsibilities
Perform critical lifts for space-rated hardware.
Provide guidance and direction in the development of lift and rigging plans.
Ensure all lifting and rigging operations comply with safety policies and best practices.
Track, inspect, maintain, and ensure all lifting and rigging equipment is in good working condition.
Conduct mechanical/electrical assembly of PCB assemblies, wire harnessing, satellite components, subassemblies, and integration of final vehicle assemblies.
Run functional testing of built hardware, including setup, instrumentation, test execution, and teardown.
Operate and maintain complex automated equipment, including troubleshooting, calibration, documentation, and maintenance.
Identify equipment requirements for planned hardware builds, maintain consumables inventory, and develop procedures and processes accordingly.
Adhere to ESD/EPA, 5s, and Cleanroom procedures.
Work all shifts, including overtime and weekends as needed. Estimated shift times are 1st shift: 7 AM - 3:30 PM, with shifts varying depending on program needs.
Perform tasks requiring standing for long periods, climbing ladders, bending, grasping, sitting, pulling, pushing, stooping, and stretching.
Lift up to 49lbs with or without reasonable accommodation.
Essential Skills
High school diploma or equivalency certificate.
Minimum of 3 years experience in performing critical lifts.
At least 1 year of operational experience in aerospace, aviation, or other production environments.
Certified forklift training (or willingness to be trained).
Ability to work with powered lift equipment (e.g., forklift, cherry picker).
Valid driver's license and ability to meet driver eligibility criteria.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Expert knowledge and certification in rigging and lifting equipment.
Experience in inspection and maintenance of rigging and lifting equipment.
Experience with rigging-related safety measures.
Knowledge of lifting processes, procedures, and work instructions.
Familiarity with aerospace or aviation quality standards.
Ability to read, interpret, and work from drawings, controlled documentation, and processes such as layout drawings, mechanical drawings, assembly procedures/work instructions, schematics, engineering drawings, and parts lists.
Experience in electro-mechanical assembly and prototype development.
Proficiency in using a PC, Microsoft Windows, and Microsoft Office suite.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Work Environment
Work in a fast-paced start-up-like environment that requires standing for long periods, climbing ladders, and performing various physical tasks. Shifts will vary depending on program needs, with estimated 1st shift times from 7 AM to 3:30 PM. Be prepared to work overtime and weekends as needed. The role involves working with complex automated equipment and adhering to safety and cleanroom procedures. Lift up to 49lbs with or without reasonable accommodation.
