As a Maintenance Mechanic with Lenoir County Government, you can make a difference! The Buildings and Grounds Department is seeking motivated candidates who can perform a variety of semiskilled tasks in at least two moderately complex trades. Candidates for employment must function at the sub-journey level in trades such as carpentry, roofing, HVAC, electrical or plumbing. Employees in this class must be able to work independently in performing assigned tasks. This position is considered essential and requires reporting to work for inclement weather and as other needs arise within the department.

Minimum Requirements:

• 21 years of age
• Possess a valid North Carolina Driver License
• High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
• Pass a Criminal Background Check; Subject to random drug testing
