Job Summary and Qualifications

We are seeking a Chest Pain Coordinator for our facility to ensure that we continue to provide all patients with high quality, efficient care. What you will do in this role:

  • Rounds on units in the facility to strengthen and promote relationships between staff and the Quality Department.

  • Promotes a culture that is positive, that values individual strengths, takes risks, and is committed to optimal patient care, and compliance with regulatory standards.

  • Facilitates the growth of hospital knowledge regarding quality and high reliability, including the dissemination and implementation of “best practices” across the facility.

  • Participates in and coordinates activities for Performance Improvement committees, including meeting preparation, setting agendas, writing minutes, and following-up with action items.

  • Proficient in use of Meditech and able to utilize for reporting, abstraction, and trending purposes.

  • Assists with proactive patient safety activities to help create facilities that are high reliability organizations, as reflected in reduced errors, elimination of unsafe processes, and increased involvement of staff and physicians toward a culture of safety.

  • Utilizes problem-solving methodology & critical thinking analysis as appropriate when working towards improving metrics or assigned projects for PI.

  • Performs regular analysis of facility quality performance data, and plans steps based on data analysis for ongoing improvement.

  • Supports clinical process improvement teams as needed to achieve quality and performance improvement goals.

  • Executes special projects and other duties as assigned.

  • Provides clinical, professional expertise for patients, families and staff members.

  • Ensures compliance with regulatory agencies under the guidance of the Quality Director.

  • Other duties as assigned.

What qualification you will need:

  • Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing is preferred.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred.

  • Current Registered Nurse License in the State of Texas or Multi-State Compact License (Employees with RN Compact License are required to obtain Texas RN License within 90 days of hire date).

  • Three year’s recent clinical experience in an Acute Care Stroke/Neuroscience Unit.

  • BLS, ACLS required.

  • Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Office.

  • Ability to apply critical thinking skills for process improvement and decision making.
