Mid-Hudson Valley Federal Credit Union Mortgage Processor in Kingston, New York

We are currently seeking an experienced Mortgage Processor to join our Mortgage team. This position requires being on-site.Responsibilities for this position include:Inputting pertinent information from applications into the mortgage software (LOS and FNMA D/U) and uploading member documents to Image Flow.Reviewing and processing all mortgage application information for completeness, as well as compliance to applicable program guidelines (FNMA, FHLMC, SONYMA, Construction, and other conduit loans). Evaluating D/U findings and all application information to assure the loans are meeting guidelines and have the proper documentation for Underwriting.Interacting with members, staff, vendors, attorneys and realtors to obtain the necessary information to properly processing and submitting applications to Underwriting for a decision, as well as troubleshooting and discussing problems as they arise.Submitting loans and updating loans to Underwriting with accurate data and assisting other areas of the department as needed.Performance Measurements include:Assuring member service is top priority, which includes treating members and other employees professionally with courtesy and respect and upholding MHV Service Standards.Developing and maintaining a working knowledge of all types of mortgage products including secondary market guidelines and procedures.Submitting loans for approval with a high data integrity (accuracy) within Mortgagebot and FNMA D/U systems.Troubleshooting problems and figuring out solutions prior to submitting loans for approval/denial, which includes contact with members, loan reps, other processors and/or underwriters may be necessary. This will require candidates to be self-driven, self-motivated, and forward thinking.Making valid suggestions regarding improvements to processes, forms, or functions in work area.Acting as a good team player including promoting a positive, productive and supportive work environment.Staying abreast of current trends affecting the financial services industry, including having an overall knowledge of the credit union, its policies and procedures, and continually expanding knowledge and developing skills.Knowledge & Skills:One year to three years of similar or related experience.A two-year college degree, or completion of a specialized certification or licensing, or completion of specialized training courses conducted by vendors, or job-specific skills acquired through an apprenticeship program.Work involves extensive personal contact with others and is of a personal or sensitive nature. Motivating, influencing, and/or training others is key at this level. Outside contacts become important and fostering sound relationships with other entities (companies and/or individuals) becomes necessary and often requires the ability to influence and/or sell ideas or services to others.Strong time management skills, the ability to manage multiple workloads with successful results, and the ability to work independently are crucial to this role, along with organizational skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills, listening skills, problem analysis and problem resolution. Having above average interpersonal skills and strong computer skills (i.e., Microsoft Office) is also a necessity in this role. Is able to bend, sit, and stand in order to perform primarily sedentary work with limited physical exertion and occasional lifting of up to 20 lbs. Must be capable of climbing / descending stairs in an emergency situation. Normal range of vision and hearing abilities required. Must be able to operate routine office equipment including computer terminals and keyboards, telephones, copiers, facsimiles, and calculators.Must be able to routinely perform work on computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day, when necessary. Must be able to work extended hours or travel off site whenever required or requested by management. Must be capable of regular, reliable and timely attendance.Must be able to routinely perform work indoors in climate-controlled shared work area with minimal noise.Must be able to perform job functions independently or with limited supervision and work effectively either on own or as part of a team.Must be able to read and carry out various written instructions and follow oral instructions, as well as be able to complete basic mathematical calculations, spell accurately, and understand computer basics.Must be able to speak clearly and deliver information in a logical and understandable sequence and be capable of dealing calmly and professionally with numerous different personalities from diverse cultures at various levels within and outside of the organization and demonstrate highest levels of customer service and discretion when dealing with the public.Must be able to perform responsibilities with composure under the stress of deadlines / requirements for extreme accuracy and quality and/or fast pace and be able to effectively handle multiple, simultaneous, and changing priorities, including being capable of exercising highest level of discretion on both internal and external confidential matters.
