DESCRIPTION OF WORK In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that permit programs align with the goals and objectives set by the Department. This involves overseeing, planning, and coordinating the strategic initiatives of all permit programs, taking into account customer needs, management practices, and principles.

You will be conducting on-site inspections of permitted work to confirm that it meets the requirements outlined in the permit and Department regulations. This includes inspecting construction work at different stages, checking grades, elevations, and stake-outs, as well as verifying the placement of various materials such as concrete, asphalt, and drainage structures.

Additionally, part of your duties will involve inspecting work zone traffic control, backfill materials, compaction, highway restoration, and ensuring public safety. You will work closely with contractors and surveyors to ensure that all work is carried out in compliance with regulations and standards.

Furthermore, you will be required to engage with Department staff, as well as federal, state, and local agencies, legislators, and the general public. This interaction is crucial for the successful administration of projects and to ensure that all stakeholders are informed and involved in the process.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

Full-time employment Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. Night work may be required intermittently. Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time on an ad-hoc basis. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in King of Prussia. Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. Check your email, including spam/junk folders, for these notices.   REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

One year as an Engineering Technician (commonwealth title); or Two years as a Transportation Technician or Construction Cost Technician 1 (commonwealth titles); or Three years of experience in highway or bridge surveying, design, construction, or inspection work; or Three years of experience in quality control of materials or building or construction industry experience, which includes reading and interpreting blueprints, plans, or schematics; or One year of construction inspection experience, and an associate's degree in civil engineering, mechanical engineering, geotechnical engineering, surveying engineering technology, or a closely related engineering technology; or An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Special Requirement: This position requires possession of an active non-commercial Pennsylvania Class C Driver's License or equivalent. Other Requirements:
