Job Description

HII Mission Technologies is searching for a Tactical Data Link (TDL) Analyst located at the NAS Key West Florida Tactical Training Range. Proactively communicates with individual squadrons to ensure link connectivity in every flight and troubleshoots as required during training evolutions. Utilize all functionality of Joint Range Extension (JRE) to meet specific training event requirements. Coordinates with and trains designated range personnel in the daily operation of TDL and Link-16 Inject To Live (LITL) equipment. Coordinates TDL/LITL settings with all training network participants. Serves as the primary point of contact for all questions related to operational and interoperability issues. Continuously coordinates with external TDL/LITL agencies, including training and testing facilities, to ensure the TDL/LITL architecture is equipped with the most current software, hardware, and system capabilities. Recommends modifications and upgrades to increase interoperability with Joint and Combined Forces. Attends appropriate continuing education classes to maintain knowledge base. Supports Tactical Data Link design in validated operational requirements to include cost analysis, optimization studies, engineering studies, integration, and installation. Works with the engineering department for capability improvements and with configuration management to maintain and document TDL/LITL baselines. Reports to the Key West Contract Site Manager and Computer Operations Supervisor. Additionally, position requires flexibility to work occasional non-standard work hours and work weeks of more than 40 hours to meet business, customer, and contractual requirements. Essential Job Responsibilities

Analyzes and provides recommendations on issues dealing with disciplines such as military command control and communications, electronic warfare, weapon systems, contingency operations, Military Tactics Techniques and Procedures (MTTP), force planning, and training exercises. Coordinates with user community representatives throughout all phases of development concerning requirements definition, clarification, prioritization, and alternatives. Analyzes the conduct and results of operational user training, military maneuvers or simulated wartime operations undertaken to main the capabilities of a force. Compares, analyzes and evaluates the relative merits of program designs and alternatives. Applies emerging doctrine and tactics, whether detailed in formal doctrinal changes or emanating from Advanced Warfighting Experiments (AWEs), Advanced Technology Demonstrations (ATDs), or Force XXI activities, to system design and development. Assesses the impact of programmatic and technical options on stated user requirements and doctrine. Prepares reports and briefs summarizing support requirements, deficiencies, and investments for various programs and systems.

  • Operate and optimize computer based range applications.

  • Provide live exercise support including but not limited to supporting exercise controllers with SIMDIS displays, setup, data feed, configuration, and legends management.

  • Integrate Live Virtual and Constructive (LVC) data sources in an optimized common operational picture (COP), assisting training team members with display or network issues

  • Monitor data integrity, interface with appropriate SOCAL TTR POC’s, diagnosing and repairing faults when applicable, resolving network data issues, submitting trouble calls and reports as needed

  • Develop Standard Operating Procedures, data products and recommendations for software /display configurations changes.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 2 years relevant Navy experience with Bachelors in related field; or High School Diploma and 6 years relevant Navy experience

  • Knowledge of Navy live training range M&O, ground truth data tracking systems, NCTE network and range display applications.

Preferred Requirements

  • Technically proficient with a keen eye for detail

  • Previous experience supporting military and VIP briefs, debriefs & presentations

  • Proficient with NRL SIMDIS range display application and mission replay

  • Skilled in SIMDIS mission data decimation and post event processing

  • Able to provide real-time support in a dynamic environment

  • Flexible and adaptable to varying work schedules

  • Committed to continuous improvement and learning

Physical Requirements

May require working in an office, industrial, shipboard, or laboratory environment. Capable of climbing ladders and tolerating confined spaces and extreme temperature variances.
