The main focus of the Trades Assistant is to assist in the maintenance, service and repair of JLG elevating work platforms and equipment and to assist in the preparation and pre-delivery process of new machines.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

These duties are not meant to be all-inclusive and other duties may be assigned.

  • Assist in the maintenance, service and repair of elevating work platforms and equipment

  • Assist in the pre-delivery of machines

  • Follow instructions and work under supervision, providing support to technicians as required

  • Conduct general housekeeping duties to ensure workshop is clean and well organised

  • General ad-hoc duties as required

  • Assisting inwards and outwards receipting and packing of goods

  • Any data entry or paperwork

  • Pick up and drop of goods as required

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ability to effectively communicate both written and verbal

  • Good listening skills including the ability to follow instruction

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Proficient Language, Literacy and Numeracy including the ability to write job notes, read safety information, machine manuals and understand basic numeracy such as time, parts numbers and quantities

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Previous experience in a similar role – experience with mechanical, hydraulic and electrical advantageous

  • Good attention to detail

  • Strong time-management and prioritization skills, able to multi-task and prioritize competing requirements and meet deadlines

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment where requirements are constantly changing

  • Working at heights license
