Location:Onsite at Ketchikan Clinic 2 days per week, WFH 2 days per week on Nurse Care Team

Schedule:Monday - Friday, 40 hours per week

Salary:$43/hr

This RN position would assist in performing the job duties of a Medical Assistant. The RN would work in the Ketchikan clinic 2 days and 2 days a week remotely on the Nurse Care Team.

The Role:At Ideal Option, we are dedicated to creating the optimal experience for our patients, allowing their journey to recovery to be as smooth as possible. We are looking to add a Registered Nurse to our team as a Nurse Case Manager. In this role, you will serve a group of patients, acting as their primary point of contact outside of their appointments during the early and pivotal phase of their care and helping them overcome barriers. You will act as a liaison between Ideal Option teams to ensure that patient concerns are resolved efficiently. Our ideal candidate will possess strong critical thinking skills, be highly organized, and most importantly, demonstrate compassion and understanding for those impacted by substance use disorder.

Medical Assistant Job Duties Include:

  • Checks patients in for their appointments

  • Confirms and updates patient’s demographics.

  • Obtains release of medical records from the patient.

  • May collect co-pays from the patient and make nightly deposits at the bank.

  • Obtains vital signs and breathalyzers from the patient.

  • Collects urine samples and prepares for laboratory testing.

  • Witnesses’ patients for observed dosing and observed urine.

  • Performs skin assessments.

  • May draw patient blood samples.

  • Maintains cleanliness of the clinic.

  • Orders cleaning supplies as needed by the clinic.

RN Responsibilities Include:

  • Supports patients during their initiation phase as they transition to medication for their use disorder.

  • Available to assist with any medication questions specific to withdrawals, dosing techniques, reviews provider doses and dosing instructions, etc.

  • Ensure timely communication to providers regarding prescription related issues, dosing questions, and abnormal lab results.

  • Communicate to patient any changes to plan of care.

  • Manage correspondences between the call center, providers, prescription teams, and nurse care team to ensure seamless care.

  • Assist with identified barriers to care and social needs.

  • Responds to patient questions and concerns regarding lab results, prescriptions, and general healthcare inquiries.

  • Coordinates outpatient efforts under the direction of the Nurse Care Team

  • Rotating taking after hours nurse calls from patients and address concerns as appropriate.

  • A knowledge of chemical dependency and its effects on individuals, families, and communities is required.

Requirements

Minimum Requirements:

  • CurrentRegistered NursingLicense Required
