$50,000/year

 

The M. Marie Miller Community House was established in 1985 by Kent Social Services to address the need for an adult and children emergency shelter in Portage County.

 

The mission of Freedom House* *is to support homeless veterans in our community in their efforts to achieve greater self-sufficiency and obtain permanent housing. Support will be provided through intensive case management and access to community resources dedicated to enhancing self-sufficiency.

*SCHEDULE: *  (Determined on a case by case basis) 40 hours/week with on-call responsibilities

*GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES: *Provides support and oversight of basic program operations; supervises and develops staff, assist in provision of direct services to residents.

 

  

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Oversee daily operations including all aspects of program operation, staff supervision, and program compliance requirements.

  2. Assist with required program reporting and data management.

  3. Assist in the provision of direct service to residents to ensure positive housing outcomes.

  4. Lead efforts to promote program awareness and outreach to the community to create program support. 

  5. Conduct regular random case file audits to ensure program documentation requirements are met.

  6. Provide individual staff supervision, training and case oversight.

  7. Complete annual performance evaluations for staff.

  8. Document and/or oversee all data related to the shelter program, including, but not limited to, housing placement, waiting list, and HMIS.

  9. Coordinate with community agencies and services to promote program development. 

  10. Adhere to all program and agency reporting requirements.

  11. Provide leadership in team planning, advisory board meetings and program goal achievement.

  12. Attend agency and team meetings.

  13. Complies with agency policies and procedures, COA regulations, federal and state requirements, and educational/certification requirements.

  14. Fulfill other duties as assigned.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Ability to network effectively with other professionals.

  2. Possess high organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple projects at once.

  3. Work as an effective team leader.

  4. Experience in utilizing community resources.

  5. Valid Ohio Driver's License and ability to meet agency requirements for driving insurability.

  6.     Must be able to meet agency requirements for criminal back ground check (Ohio Bureau of Criminal Identification & Investigation).  

     

MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL/LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS:  Bachelor's Degree in human services field or related degree preferred. High School diploma or equivalent required.

 

*MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: * Experience serving homeless, veterans, low income, and mental health populations. Supervisory experience in non-profit preferred.
