Essential Job Functions: * Operate and maintain can lines, perform and documents quality checks and measurements, requiring supervisory assistance only in unusual quality or operating problems. Take full responsibility for the quality of the product and line efficiency * Properly diagnose mechanical and quality problems, determine the necessary repairs, and restore malfunctioning equipment back to service with minimum delay * Handle pallets, tooling, barrels, boxes and cartons as required * Record product and equipment inspection to ensure quality production * Maintain work area and equipment in a clean and orderly fashion * Adhere to all safety regulations and report any hazards that may compromise a safe workplace * Work closely with supervisors and fellow employees on improvement teams to uncover and implement safety, quality, productivity, and cost control advancements Job Requirements: * Proven background in manufacturing or similar production environment * Ability to read and comprehend blueprints and drawings * Ability to use measuring hand tools to set up and maintain all can line machinery and associated equipment * Critical and logical thinking ability * Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment * Possess ability for basic computer skills * Ability to work with little supervision * Able to work at heights including use of steps and ladders Experience/Education: * High school diploma or equivalent * Journeyman Mechanic * 2+ years as an Industrial Mechanic in a manufacturing environment Preferred Requirements: * Lift truck driver\'s certification Physical Requirements: * Ability to kneel, stoop, crawl, squat, and stand for extended periods, while running machinery up to 12 hours * Must possess adequate upper body strength to repeatedly pull or push hand tools in order to make, repair, or adjust parts and/or machines * Ability to lift 40 pounds * Ability to be in constant motion about 50-70% of shifts LIMITATIONS AND DISCLAIMER The above job description is meant to describe the general nature and level of work being performed; it is not intended to be construed as an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, duties and skills required for the position.
