As a Sterile Compounding Pharmacy Technician, you will be responsible for accurately reading prescriptions, interpreting physician intent, and processing prescriptions in The Compounder system under the supervision of a pharmacist. You will prepare formula log sheets, compound orders, mix, package, label, and maintain records. Additionally, you will work with pharmacists to maintain inventory levels, provide excellent service to clients, and ensure compliance with monitoring systems. Continuous improvement and education of techniques are encouraged.
Responsibilities
Correctly read and interpret prescriptions, and process them in The Compounder system under pharmacist supervision.
Prepare the correct formula log sheet for standard items and refer non-standard items to the Compounding Pharmacist.
Accurately compound orders following formulas, including mixing, packaging, labeling, and record-keeping.
Present orders and supporting items to the pharmacist for a final check prior to dispensing.
Maintain ingredient, equipment, and batched product inventories at acceptable levels.
Conduct oneself ethically and uphold the moral practices of the pharmacy.
Provide prompt, friendly service to clients and handle patient complaints efficiently.
Ensure daily, weekly, and monthly activities are recorded in the appropriate compliance system.
Engage in continuous improvement and education of techniques and processes.
Collaborate with the non-sterile compounding team to identify areas for improvement.
Report any insanitary conditions immediately.

Pharmacy knowledge
Sterile Compounding experience
Ability to work and communicate well with pharmacists and peers

Ability to complete tasks in a timely manner
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Proficient in Microsoft Office software, QS-1, and The Compounder
Ability to operate basic office equipment such as copier, fax, and telephone
High School Diploma or equivalent
Work Environment
Working in a closed-door specialty compounding pharmacy. Shifts include: (2) 9:00am - 5:30pm Monday - Friday and (2) 10:00am - 6:30pm Monday - Friday. The environment is aseptic.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $24.00/hr.
