Teach One to Lead One is a 501(c)(3), not-for-profit, youth development organization based in Kennesaw, GA. Our mission is to provide mentoring opportunities and teach universal ethical principles to lead students at-risk into lives of purpose and potential.

Role Description

This is a full-time on-site Professional in Training (Internship) role. The Professional in Training will assist experienced professionals in delivering programming to youth, including mentoring, classroom instruction, and small group facilitation. The Professional in Training will become familiar with our organization's curriculum and principles, and will provide support in program development and evaluation.

Qualifications

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Collaborative team player capable of working independently
  • A passion for working with youth
  • An understanding of the challenges that at-risk youth may face
  • Attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records
  • Ability to analyze and evaluate program effectiveness
  • Ability to maintain confidential information
  • Experience in non-profit, youth programming, or educational settings is a plus
  • Currently enrolled in, or recently graduated from, an accredited college or university. Pursuit of a degree in Education, Social Work, Psychology, or related field is preferred.

PAID INTERNSHIP INFORMATION

  • Interns will receive a stipend of $15 an hour to cover basic living expenses
  • Interns will not be able to hold a part-time job outside of T1L1 due to a very demanding internship daily schedule
  • Internship will include participation in one or two fully-paid retreats in another state

APPLICANT REQUIREMENTS

  • U.S. citizen or resident
  • Completed junior or senior year of college education (provide transcripts) Must be able to work full-time 9:00-5:00 if still completing school
  • Minimum of 3.0 GPA
  • Available to complete a 10-month, full-time internship program (Or this could be just a semester internship if needed.)
  • Provide own transportation to the T1L1 office in Kennesaw, GA (daily)
  • Three character-reference contacts (supervisor, pastor/mentor, family member)
  • Authorize a personal background check (nationwide criminal records search)

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS

  • Proof of US citizenship or residency
  • Copy of last set of transcripts or college degree
  • Updated resum
  • List of character references (name and phone number)
  • > Supervisor: Someone you have worked for formally, preferably who has seen you speak.
  • > Pastor/Youth Pastor OR Mentor: Someone you have looked up to and who has helped shape your character.
  • > Family Member: Either a parent/grandparent/extended relative, OR someone around your age who knows you well, such as a close friend or colleague

Salary: $15.00 per hour
